One of Britain’s leading independent kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture manufacturers, Mereway is celebrating 30 successful years with a commemorative company photograph and cake.
Staff gathered to watch the cutting of the cake, which was made by employee Sharon Hopkins, before the group picture was taken outside the Tyseley head office in West Midlands.
The company and its 260 staff have pledged to raise at least £30,000 from a series of charity events throughout the year to celebrate this significant anniversary. They are raising money for four main charities that will receive the bulk of the funds raised, with another list of local charities selected by staff all to receive a donation.
The four charities that will benefit are Acorns, The Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, Help for Heroes and Helping Harry Help Others.
“Today marks a major milestone in our development,” says MD Bob Norris. “We have come a long way since my brother and I worked in the fledgling business, delivering the kitchens ourselves but we are not ready to rest on our laurels and have plans to double the size of the company over the next five years.
“We are delighted to take this opportunity to share the celebrations with all of our staff and are grateful for their continued support and participation in all of our charities activities for the year.”
